We just learned that construction on the Central Park courts has been postponed until next year. We are excited to move forward with our new season!

Niskayuna Women’s Tennis provides a friendly and non-competitive way to enjoy doubles tennis a t Central Park in Schenectady for seven (7) weeks. The $45 fee covers league play, clinics, and doubles mixers.
In addition, when you register for Niskayuna Women’s Tennis (NWT), you are automatically enrolled as a member of Schenectady Tennis Association (STA). While our Niskayuna Women’s Tennis schedule is limited to late April - June, STA offers drop-in doubles play, clinics, and social events throughout the spring, summer, and into the fall. We encourage everyone to take advantage of STA’s playing opportunities, especially when our season ends.

Each week we play doubles by rotating partners and opponents within the group. Important: if you are unable to commit to a weekly schedule, please consider registering to play as a “sub only”.
Tennis playing levels
Before you register, please read the descriptions at the end of this message, and carefully choose your playing level (Beginner to A level). If you have any questions about your playing level, please contact one of the officers.
For beginners, we offer instructional drills and Round Robin play with mentors to assist with learning and game flow. Due to the more casual format, beginners do not need to find subs when they cannot play.
Registration deadlines and fees
Registration fees are $45. To avoid late fees, register by Friday, March 22nd.
Starting Monday, March 25th, the late registration fee will be $55. Late registrants may be assigned as “subs only” if spaces on doubles teams are not available. After March 29th, all registrants will be assigned as SUBS ONLY. Please note, there are NO REFUNDS.
We currently are taking payment by checks only. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Casual Kick-off gathering at Great Flats Brewing, Thursday, March 14, 6:30 - 8:30 pm
Please join us for a fun evening! We’ll gather with friends, old and new, and share some snacks to accompany the variety of Great Flats beverages. We’ll share updates from NWT and STA, introduce your NWT officers, and hear from our coaches. If you haven't already done so, please RSVP to your Evite invitation so we know to expect you!
Tennis clinics
Members of all playing levels are invited and encouraged to participate in the clinics taught by our coaches, local pros Jim Neal (mornings) and Terry Casillo (evenings).
Morning clinics on Mondays and Thursdays from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Central Park, Schenectady.
Evening clinics on Wednesdays from 6:00 – 7:00 pm at the Mohawk Golf Club, 1849 Union St. PLEASE NOTE: the first evening clinic on 4/17 is scheduled before the start of doubles play.
Doubles Mixer Events at Central Park, Schenectady
Our annual morning and evening doubles mixers are great ways to play doubles with different partners. We provide balls, and we play for FUN ONLY! No running game tallies - we keep rotating so players of all levels can play together and have a wonderful time!

End of season gathering at Great Flats Brewing, Thursday, June 13th, 6:30 - 8:30 pm
Join us for a light dinner and dessert to accompany our favorite Great Flats beverages. This is a great event to recognize our coaches, captains, officers, and enjoy the company of our friends. We’ll send an Evite invitation closer to the event.
Levels of play
Indicate your playing level on the registration form using the following guidelines. If you have any questions about your level, please email one of our officers.
Beginner: learning the strokes, serves, scoring and etiquette. Play format includes skills building drills/games and round-robin play with volunteer mentors.
C Player: 1+ years of experience, improving basic strokes, developing serve, keeps score.
C+ Player: striving to be more dependable in court coverage, basic strokes, serves, and sustaining rallies.
B Player: sustains rallies, consistent forehand and backhand, directs shots, covers court well, usually doesn’t force errors on the serve.
B+ Player: dependable strokes, uses a variety of shots including lobs, overheads, approach shots, volleys, and a 1st and 2nd serve.
A Player: anticipates shots, executes lobs, half volleys, and overhead smashes with success, forces errors and can make winning shots.
